-When I first heard of Perfect Blue, it caught my attention for a while. When I saw some image screenshots of it, it lost my interest and eventually forgotten about it. When I saw a copy of Perfect Blue displayed in my local Suncoast, my interest was reawakened and I immediately bought one copy. I wanted to see what made this movie so special. The opening was mediocre at first then as the anime progressed, the plot became more complicated. Satoshi Kon did a great job of combining reality and imagination into one. It actually made me think and examined very scene to piece them together. The character Mr. Me-mania caught my attention throughout the movie. Although his face was deformed, it gave him character which made scenes with him very interesting. There were some flaws in the movie. The complexity of the plot which I like also acted as a double edge sword. It may confuse the audience to which is the real and which is imagination. The animation didn't impress me that much but it is appropriate for the anime. Still, I highly recommend this anime. Due to the graphic violence and some sensuality, this anime is for mature audience only.
